Meet Sandy, one of the new breed of young guns to join the team, who approaches his task with unbridled enthusiasm and the invincibility of youth.
Sandy believes the grand game can be quite a party and should be as much fun as possible, which in no way means he doesn't take the game seriously, but that he is so confident he has never doubted his considerable abilities. While his party attitude can be a source of irritation to the older members of the team, they must admit they get a kick out of the way he livens up the game. In other words, you just can't help but like the little guy.
So impressed was MacDuff when he first spied Sandy at Pebble Beach that he made him an immediate member of his team, knowing that with a little work he could be one of the best he has had. MacDuff just wishes he could figure out what Sandy is saying half the time.
